Nuclear Medicine

State-of-the-art equipment is extremely important in the field of Nuclear Medicine. The technological resources in the Nuclear Medicine section at Bayonne Medical Center are very impressive. In fact, we were amongst the first healthcare facilities in the area to own a dual head Gamma Camera. With two detectors to gather information, this piece of equipment scans the patient in half the time of a traditional Gamma Camera. We also have a second dual-head camera that gives us the capability of high-speed computer applications. Additionally, we have just added a third Gamma Camera to meet the ever growing needs of our community.

We also offer SPECT imaging, Why do we make such a big deal about the sophisticated equipment that we own? An investment in advanced nuclear medicine technology is an investment in the well being of every individual in our community. And, after all that’s what we are all about. The Nuclear Medicine Department is also accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories.
