Bayonne Medical Center Receives Stroke Designation


Bayonne N.J. - September 2010 -- Bayonne Medical Center announced today that it has received designation as a Primary Stroke Center by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. This designation recognizes the expertise that Bayonne Medical Center has in the diagnosis and treatment of strokes.

Among the special services that are available to diagnose and treat stroke, are a stroke team that includes Board Certified neurologists and radiologists and nurses, brain imaging services that are available 24 hours a day, rehabilitation services and community education programs to promote early recognition of the signs of an impending stroke.

"We are extremely pleased with our recent designation as a Primary Stroke Center", said Daniel A. Kane, President and CEO. "The center of excellence that we have developed for the diagnosis and treatment of strokes is another example of the high level of care that we are providing to the residents of Bayonne and Hudson County."
