Application Procedure

The step-by-step instructions for applying to the School of Nursing are listed in the checklist below. Please utilize the checklist to ensure that you have completed your admission folder.

1. Complete application forms for :
_____ a. Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing ($40.00)
_____ b. Hudson County Community College ($20.00)

2. Submit both completed applications with the necessary fees to :
_____ Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing Admissions Committee 69-71 New Hook Rd. Bayonne, NJ 07002.
_____ Make one (1) check or money order for $20.00 payable to Hudson County Community College and another check or money order for $40.00 payable to Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing. These fees are non-refundable.
_____ Select a date to take the TCS II. The cost of the test is $25.00. Applicants must have an application with the School in order to take the TCS II.
_____ Complete the College Placement Test at Hudson County Community College. All students who attend NJ colleges are required to take the College Placement Test (CPT) in English, * Math and Algebra to determine readiness for college level courses. Applicants to the School of Nursing, who are determined to need remedial courses, will not be considered for admission until the remedial courses have been successfully completed.

* Applicants who provide a college transcript indicating successful completion of college English, math and/or Algebra courses are exempt from the CPT subjects completed.

3. Compile and submit the following documents to complete the admission folder :
_____ a. Official High School or GED transcripts
_____ b. Birth Certificate
_____ c. Proof of LPN licensure, if applicable
_____ d. Official transcripts from LPN program, if applicable
_____ e. Official College or Nursing School transcripts, if applicable
_____ f. Proof of Resident Alien Status, if applicable
_____ g. Three (3) professional or educational references

4. Schedule and complete a personal interview.
Please note: If accepted into the Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing, a criminal background check will be required. Commencement and continuation in the School of Nursing program is contingent upon the satisfaction of the Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing, in its sole and total discretion, with the results of this criminal background investigation. A criminal history background check is a pre-requisite for licensure in the State of New Jersey.

Post-Acceptance Requirements

Prior to entering Nursing I, all students must fulfill the following requirements :
1. Medical Clearance and immunizations
2. American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers
3. Proof of malpractice insurance
4. Criminal Background Check
5. Bursar's printed class schedule

All of these requirements will be addressed at an Information Session offered by the School after acceptance into the program.
