Bayonne Medical Center's Director of Emergency Medicine Completes Medical Review Officer Certification
June 6, 2003 -- David Istvan, M.D., director of emergency medicine at Bayonne Medical Center, recently received Medical Review Officer (MRO) certification from the American Association of Medical Review Officers. MROs are licensed physicians with knowledge about the medical use of prescription drugs and the pharmacology and toxicology of illicit drugs. The certification not only confirms Dr. Istvan's proficiency in reviewing and verifying drug and alcohol test results, but also recognizes his knowledge of the latest federal regulations developed by the Department of Health and Human Services for federal drug testing programs.
