NATIONAL LEAGUE FOR NURSING ACCREDITING COMMISSION REACCREDITS BAYONNE MEDICAL CENTER SCHOOL OF NURSING
BAYONNE -- The Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing has been reaccredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
"This accreditation reflects the quality of the school, its faculty and programs," said Nancy Bonner, Director of the Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing and its faculty.
The NLNAC mandates that to continue accreditation, schools that have changed ownership must be visited to ensure that they have the full support of the governing organization both philosophically and fiscally. The reaccreditation process was triggered when the Bayonne Medical Center transferred ownership earlier this year.
"Skilled, compassionate nurses are the lifeblood of any healthcare institution," said Daniel Kane, President and CEO of the Bayonne Medical Center. "Our reaccreditation ensures that our students can continue their education and go on to fill vital roles in caring for people who rely on their services."
The National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission is nationally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as the accrediting agency for post-secondary and higher degree nursing programs. NLNAC provides specialized accreditation for all types of nursing education programs, including clinical doctorate, master's baccalaureate, associate, diploma and practical.
The Bayonne Medical Center School of Nursing, located at 69-71 New Hook Road, Bayonne, has been providing education in healthcare services since its founding in 1891. A leader in hospital-based nursing education, the school has a history of excellence and an outstanding faculty that provides continuous academic support and guidance to its students.
The school is owned by the Bayonne Medical Center, a fully accredited, acute-care hospital located in Hudson County. Having provided quality, comprehensive, community-based healthcare services for the past 120 years, its new executive leadership has renewed its commitment to excellence and is investing in new programs and technology that will care for the residents of Bayonne and surrounding communities well into the future.
