Bayonne Medical Center Dedicates its State of the Art Cardiovascular Lab
Bayonne N.J. - April 1, 2010 -- Senator Sandra Cunningham and Bayonne Mayor Mark Smith joined officials and staff at Bayonne Medical Center yesterday at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new state of the art cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional laboratory.
The cardiovascular program at Bayonne Medical Center is the most recent service to receive new state of the art equipment, enhanced technology and a complete facility renovation at a cost of $2.2 million, enhancing its already excellent cardiovascular services. Bayonne Medical Center's outstanding staff of cardiologists and vascular physicians has been joined by six new cardiologists in the past six months leading to a substantial growth in volume.
The new equipment will allow physicians an opportunity to perform complex cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. Physicians will also have more detailed images and access to more patient data than ever before. Physicians will have an opportunity to share patient images electronically with the patients' primary care physician and other physicians involved in their care.
The newly renovated space incorporates the "Healing Environment Concept" which provides patients and family members a more relaxed experience. Patients are admitted directly to the unit where they receive all of their care from the time of admission to discharge.
"This is another example of Bayonne Medical Center's commitment to providing state of the art technology and enhancing care for our patients", said Daniel A. Kane, President and CEO. " Bayonne Medical Center has invested over $10 million dollars on improvements in facilties, equipment and technology since February 2008."
